SN100C, which is a eutectic alloy patented in 1999 by NIHON SUPERIOR (Japan) exclusively for the electronics sector with the idea of replacing SnPb alloys. The addition of nickel decreases Cu6Sn5 intermetallic growth, increasing the ductility of the solder, as well as its fluidity and wettability. On the other hand, germanium acts as an antioxidant, reducing the formation of slag and tarnishing. It also works as a surfactant agent, improving the fluidity of the alloy. Its composition is Sn99.3Cu0.7 and a small addition of Nickel and Germanium.
